I'm a big fan of Chateau Sonoma and it's beautiful proprietess, Sarah Anderson. Although obviously French influenced, her natural style is rustic, large scale, clean and whimsical. All these elements translate beautifully to Tahoe, in my opinion.
A while back, Sarah designed a property in Tahoe that is available for rental and I've included photos below. The place is very simple and sparcely furnished as rental properties are wont to be. Even so, I see glimmers of Sarah's talent. Do keep in mind as you view it, that with rental property design, practicality, durability and budget are important factors. Also, theft can be an issue so you don't often see a lot expensive extras that can be carted out of the place.
An old Provincial glazed bowl sits on the countertop and French antlermounts from the Alps decorate the walls.
